Atlantic County Redevelopment Initiative
Leveraging County economic development funding, the Authority connected Atlantic County towns seeking to move forward redevelopment projects with the professionals capable of doing just that. This program resulted in six redevelopment plans. Each of these plans is moving forward towards a successful project.
Wildwood Redevelopment
The City of Wildwood and the Cape May County hired the ACIA as the redevelopment entity for the redevelopment of Pacific Ave in Wildwood. The ACIA unique redevelopment experience will allow for this complex redevelopment plan of a mixed use avenue a success.
In a NJ first public private partnership, the ACIA connected 19 municipalities with a private database company to help inventory and track foreclosed, vacant, and abandoned properties in these towns. The ACIA provides coordination, troubleshooting, and training for the municipalities who participate.
Taking the next step to help Atlantic County municipalities deal with problem problems the ACIA has developed and is piloting a first of its kind Countywide Abandoned Properties Rehabilitation Program. This program will allow the ACIA rejuvenate neighborhoods by partnering with towns to rehabilitate and bring back to market abandoned properties.
